IGG Declaration Form pdf
- Efficiency and Cost Reduction: The manual system (used from 2002 to 2015) was expensive and time-consuming, requiring the printing, physical delivery, and manual data entry of forms.
- Storage: Physical forms required significant storage space.
- Anti-Corruption: The system aims to streamline asset verification and recovery, strengthening the fight against corruption.
Legal Framework: The system and the requirement to declare assets are grounded in:
- The Constitution of the Republic of Uganda (Chapters 13 & 14)
- The Inspectorate of Government Act, 2002
- The Leadership Code Act, 2002
- The Electronic Transactions Act, 2011
- The Leadership Code (Declaration Form) Regulations, 2016
How the Process Starts (For Leaders):
- Data Collection: Accounting Officers in all Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) and Local Governments (LGs) must submit the names, email addresses, and mobile numbers of specified leaders to the IG by November 30th (prior to the declaration period).
- Account Creation: The IG uses this information to update the Leaders’ Register and generate a unique “IG-ODS Number” for each leader.
- Invitation: Leaders will receive an invitation to declare via:
- An email (sent to the address provided by their Accounting Officer).
- An SMS notification from the number “6009”.
Troubleshooting Contact Info: If a leader receives the SMS but not the email (and has checked their spam/junk folder), they should contact the IG:
- Email: declarations@igg.go.ug
- Phone: +256-(0)414-231183, +256-(0)776-231184, or +256-(0)702-231184
