The Rajasthan Budget 2026-27 was presented on 11 February 2026 by Deputy Chief Minister and Finance Minister Diya Kumari. This is the third budget of the Bhajan Lal Sharma government and carries a strong vision — building a “Viksit Rajasthan” (Developed Rajasthan) by 2047.
With a massive outlay of ₹21.52 lakh crore, this budget is not just about numbers. It lays down a roadmap to transform Rajasthan into a $350 billion economy by 2030, while focusing on youth employment, farmers’ welfare, infrastructure growth, and citizen safety.
Let’s understand what this budget actually means for the people of Rajasthan.
Big Focus on Jobs & Youth
One of the strongest messages in this budget is employment. The government has announced a roadmap for 4 lakh recruitments over the coming years to tackle unemployment in the state.
Students who perform well in Class 10 and 12 will receive ₹20,000 e-vouchers to buy tablets or laptops. This move aims to boost digital education and help students prepare for competitive exams.
For young entrepreneurs, there’s encouragement to move from being job seekers to job creators. A ₹10 lakh provision has been announced to support youth starting their own ventures. Additionally, 5,000 new Urban Home Guard volunteers will be recruited.
Health & Social Security – “Raj Suraksha”
A major highlight of the Rajasthan Budget 2026 is the launch of the “Raj Suraksha” scheme.
Under this initiative, road accident victims will receive free emergency treatment without any paperwork or identity proof. This is a significant step toward saving lives during critical situations.
Government hospitals will also provide free transport to carry the deceased back home, reducing the burden on families during difficult times.
In compassionate appointments, the government has expanded eligibility to include the daughter-in-law (Putra-Vadhu) of deceased government employees.
To tackle rising online fraud, the state will establish an R4C Cyber Security Center to protect citizens from digital scams and so-called “digital arrests.”
Massive Push for Infrastructure & Technology
Infrastructure development continues to be a top priority.
The government plans to build 42,000 kilometers of roads across Rajasthan, supported by an effective capital expenditure fund of ₹1 lakh crore.
Two new strategic bodies will be created:
- RITI (Rajasthan Institute for Transformation and Innovation) – modeled after NITI Aayog
- PRAMAAN – a data-driven policy research unit under the Chief Minister’s Office
In a digital-first move, over 100 government services such as caste and domicile certificates will now be available through WhatsApp E-Mitra, making public services more accessible.
Modern central jails will also be constructed in Jaipur, Jodhpur, Alwar, and Udaipur with an allocation of ₹1,200 crore.
Support for Farmers & Environment
Farmers have received strong support in this year’s budget.
The government has allocated ₹25,000 crore for interest-free agricultural loans, along with a ₹150 per quintal bonus on wheat. A ₹700 crore grant has also been set aside for milk production bonuses.
A major environmental initiative includes planting 10 crore saplings next year, with special protection for the state tree, Khejri.
Tribal farmers cultivating land without formal records will now get ownership (Khatedari) rights through amendments in revenue laws.
Clean Energy & Transport Relief
Rajasthan is moving toward greener mobility. The state plans to install 250 EV charging stations and open 60 new CNG stations.
To encourage local vehicle registration, a 50% discount on registration tax has been announced for vehicles coming from other states.
Stamp duty reductions and relief in loan registry charges aim to support the middle class and boost the real estate sector.
Water & Renewable Energy Boost
Water management has received an allocation of ₹6,800 crore, including ₹4,500 crore under the CM Jal Jeevan Mission to provide tap water connections in 6,500 villages.
In renewable energy, new solar parks in Bikaner and Jaisalmer will be developed with an investment of ₹3,000 crore.
